FOUNDER STORY
I spent over a decade in the cosmetic industry, as a chemist, product development manager, and finally as the owner of a boutique cosmetic consultancy – creating products for global brands.
Through it all, I grew frustrated by cosmetic industry that spoke at women, not to them. Few brands were owned by women, and even fewer by a scientist. Marketing is prioritized over efficacy, transparency, and even safety.
Meanwhile, my girlfriends were spending hundreds of dollars on high–end skincare that overpromised, but underdelivered. They’d text me ingredient lists photos and ask: “Is this worth it?” And most of the time, my answer was: “Don’t waste your money.”
One day, my best friend said: “I wish you’d just make your own skincare, so I could finally trust the products I’m using.”
That was it, that was the moment. I went into my lab and two years later Scibel was born.
